THE IN BETWEEN is a supernatural love story about a teenage girl named Tessa (Joey King) who believes she doesn't deserve her own love story after spending most of her childhood in foster homes. After an accidental encounter with Skylar (Kyle Allen), a senior from a neighboring town who is a true romantic, everything changes. As her heart begins to open, tragedy comes when Skylar is killed in a car accident, but Tessa survives.
Tessa believes Skylar is seeking to reconnect with her from the beyond as she looks for answers in the aftermath of the accident. Tessa tries to contact Skylar one last time with the support of her closest friend and a newfound belief that love never dies, in order to give their love story the dramatic finish it deserves.
